Green Hammer Recognized for People and Projects
10.24.22It's award season and we are excited to celebrate some of the people and projects that earned recognition through regional award programs this year. Laura Squillace, Green Hammer architect and co-director of design, who has been named a 2022 Woman of Vision honoree by the Daily Journal of Commerce! The awards honor women who are shaping the built environment in Oregon and Southwest Washington via technical skill, leadership, mentorship, community involvement, and promotion of industry diversity.
Trillium Townhomes was named Zero Energy Project of the Year by the Earth Advantage through its Green Builder of the Year awards prpgram. This category honors projects that prioritize low operational costs and carbon emissions. This zero energy community includes six zero energy modern row homes inspired by the design aesthetic of the industrial buildings and homes in Portland’s Pearl District. An all-electric development, Trillium Townhomes is designed to meet all of its energy needs over the course of a year from a 31-kilowatt rooftop solar array. All six of the residences were certified Earth Advantage Platinumin June 2022.
And, we are honored to have been recognized as a "Best for the World" B Corp for the fourth year running. We are honored to have been included in this round-up of Best for the Environment honorees, which highlights B Corps that are rethinking design to reduce waste and reuse materials. To be a Best for the World company, B Corps must have scores in the top 5% of one or more of the five impact areas assessed towards the certification.
