Nadia Shilansky

  • Nadia Shilansky
Nadia joined Green Hammer in the fall of 2021 after graduating from Portland Community College’s Building Construction Technology program. As a carpenter, Nadia takes on a wide range of projects on the job site, which offers them an opportunity to gain valuable skills and insights into high performance building design. As a relatively new carpenter, Nadia says Green Hammer’s supportive work environment has allowed them the opportunity to continually improve their skill set.

Nadia launched their Green Hammer career working on Homma Burnside, an 18-unit multifamily project in Portland’s Mt. Tabor neighborhood. Nadia says Green Hammer’s dedication to equity and inclusion is one of the things they love most about working here. They are encouraged that some apartments in the proposed Homma Mississippi project will be set aside to reintegrate families that were previously pushed out of the neighborhood due to gentrification.

When they’re not honing their carpentry craft, Nadia loves to play music. They’ve been playing drums since they were a kid and did some recording engineering in their early 20s. They also love traveling, camping and hanging out with their three big, goofy dogs.
