MATERIALS

  • Lumber used to frame structure and walnut butcher block countertops made from urban salvaged logs supplied and processed by Urban Timber Works (walnut log came from the site)
  • The upstairs floors, trim and kitchen cabinet boxes made from 100% local, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified no added formaldehyde (NAF) wood. The cabinet faces were made from douglas fir staves salvaged from oregon maraschino cherry processing vats.
  • Earthen floors installed throughout kitchen and living area.
  • Non-chrome fixtures (stainless steel and nickel-plated) – to avoid toxic and carcinogenic chromium released during manufacture
